It's time to register for Ride Across Maryland's 13th annual motorcycle ride on June 1st, 2013--to continue the fight against breast cancer...and to enjoy a new Ride format.
Whether you've done it many times before, or if this is your first, I hope you will join us for this family-friendly, fundraising event of riding and, this year, a new destination and concert…. at Blob’s Park in Jessup, MD.
As always, motorcycles, cars, vans and trucks… riders, passengers and their families and friends are all welcome!
We are (still) planning several new rides from our main departure point at The Mall in Columbia. We hope (after we complete planning the routes) you will pick one to enjoy (the rides are expected to last from 3 to 4-1/2 hours) and then you will arrive at Blob’s Park for a day-long festival experience of activities for adults and children. We will have new and various merchandise vendors, food vendors, live entertainment, all to be followed by a VIP dinner and special concert.
As you may know, after the 2010 Ride, the RAM Board of Directors made the decision to become a grant-making organization to fund additional worthy, local organizations providing treatment, services and breast cancer related research in Maryland.
It has been a slow start putting in place the process of vetting and
making sure the money you raise to fight breast cancer goes to worthy
organizations. We are pleased to have distributed grants to several
well-performing organizations and programs. (See our website for
details.)
Thank you for your past efforts to fight breast cancer. All of you have
been vitally important in the fundraising process and we are going to make a difference in all of our Maryland communities. Let's continue the fight and make this decade even more successful than our first!
If you know of a potential organization that could benefit from a grant,
please let them know about the Ride Across Maryland Foundation and our mission, so they can apply.
