This informative reference text encompasses the land and people who lived in or near the Worton District. Those who live in or have relatives who have lived within the district will find a lot of data, information and stories about this part of Kent County going as far back as 1658. As you can see from the pictures, this 600 + page book has considerable genealogical information as well as a number of maps & charts. There are also descriptions of the development and disappearances of towns and schools. The development of Methodism in the area is also described. Some of the stories are even pretty juicy. For example, whose relative had her third husband die on their wedding night?
On Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 6p.m. at the Chestertown Branch of the Kent County Library, the researcher and author Carolyn E. Cooper will present a brief introduction to her new book and its extensive research. The talk will be followed by a book signing . A limited number of books will be available for sale during this event.
Books will also be on sale at the Bookplate Store on Cross Street, the Historical Society or by contacting Carolyn or Judy Cooper.
